Finland
If there is a quality of being natural, then Finland embodies it.
It does so in its ever-stretching fragrant forests, so dense that reindeers had to develop narrower antlers to inhabit them.
It also does so in its lakes, glorious both in their summer glittering blue and in their white winter coats.
And last but not least, it does so through its people, an unexpected mix of hardiness and warmth, no-nonsense and patience.
I had the joy of visiting Finland in both summer and winter, and wholeheartedly adored both versions.
Most of the posts you will find here relate to a December trip to Lapland, but I am looking forward to returning for more visits in summer and fall.
If you are thinking of leaving the world behind and immerse yourself in an authentic winter wonderland, then I have you covered: you will find some useful information on travel in Finland during the winter months and ideas on what to see and do.
I do hope you will let Finland's silence find a place in your heart.
